Athon SW 1085 Fluid is a low molar mass ethoxylated trisiloxane- containing silicone fluid formulation that forms a clear solution in water in any proportion at room temperature.
Athon SW 1085 Fluid is a water-soluble silicone surfactant formulation with excellent spreading and surface tension lowering properties.
It gives transparency to adjuvant formulations by forming clear solutions in water at any proportion, unlike common pure trisiloxanes.
Athon SW 1085 Fluid lowers the surface tension of water by 20-22 mN/m in proportions that can reach 0.01% by weight. This very low surface tension leads to the high spreadability or wettability of aqueous solutions on virtually all known surfaces. Materials based on trisiloxanes exhibit the property of superscattering.
The ability to cover a much larger area than common surfactant solutions. Even fluoroalkyl surfactants, which reduce surface tension to even lower levels, do not have the ability to superspread. Actives present in solutions spiked with Athon SW 1085 are charged and penetrate through small openings normally protected from water by high surface energy – for example, stomata of plant leaves, channels in textile fibers or biofilms. These very thin aqueous films are subject to rapid evaporation, often allowing rapid drying on fabrics and hard surfaces.
Unlike pure trisiloxanes on the market, Athon SW 1085 Fluid is a formulation that presents clear solutions in water in any proportion at room temperature, providing transparency to adjuvant formulations and other concentrates.
