A&S MP 850 Resin is a solution of methylphenyl silicone resin in xylene.

Applicable to all types of heat resistant paints. It is the material of choice for anticorrosive coatings in engine parts, furnaces, chimneys, exhaust systems, boilers, ovens and oven parts, grills, electric and gas heaters, incinerators.
For temperatures above 250°C, the organic groups of silicone resins begin to degrade. After all silicone resin organic components have pyrolytically degraded, the remaining product changes to an inorganic stoichiometric composition of (SiO2)n. It is this layer that securely adheres the pigments and fillers to the coated substrate.
Any heat-stable inorganic pigments may be used:
•White, silver, black and colored ones
•Aluminum pigments provide the best heat resistance, up to 600°C
•Black pigments up to 500°C
•Mica and talc can be used as fillers
Recommendations for proper use:
•It is necessary to ensure adequate dispersion of pigments and fillers in the paint
•Sandblasting and degreasing of the substrate are recommended
•The paint can be made by spraying, immersion or brushing
•The product dries completely at room temperature, promoting temporary protection against corrosion
•The optimum mechanical properties and oil resistance are obtained after temperature treatment (eg 200°C for 1 hour)
•The recommended dry film thickness is between 15 and 25μm
