Athon FB 520 Antifoam is a silicone based antifoaming emulsion containing silica and additives. It can be used in a wide range of applications, being resistant to alkalis and acids and is recommended for processes under extreme pH conditions.
Athon FB 520 Antifoam is a homogeneous, low viscosity emulsion. It is effective even at very low levels, being chemically inert to the foaming medium. Excellent foam breaking as well as good residual action.
The versatility and ease of handling of Athon FB 520 Antifoam allow its use in the most varied applications. It is an excellent breaking agent of foam generated in formulations containing surfactants which are used in the most diverse areas such as agrochemicals, household cleaning products, Autocare, petrochemical industry, or where high performance in extremes of temperature, pH or resistance to saline or surfactant solutions is required. Typical levels between 0.1% and 2.0% are recommended although the ideal level should be established by practical tests. Dilution in water or in the foaming medium is recommended immediately prior to use.
